Music according to Merriam-Webster dictionary is the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity.
Now to the spiritual definition, MUSIC IS A MYSTERY IN THE SPIRIT. It is beyond the singer; the vessel conveying the song to the public. That’s why worship should be a lifestyle and not a MOOD. We are not to swift in and out of worship because it’s also a mystery in the spirit. The spirit of prophecy and revelation rides upon the wings of hymns and spiritual songs.
There is a weight of impartation that flows in the spirit when you sing. Your mind may not be permitted to know all but all you have to do is to flow along with the wind of the spirit. You need to know the wind of the spirit because there is a difference between presence and power. Sometimes we pretend to really feel His presence and be moved whereas it’s just only emotional and the spirit of God is not driving it.
The presence of God is a symbol of your consistency in God, it’s a reward for painstaking and it cannot be bought. Our consistency in God has a minister helps the rate at which the presence will be manifested. You may fake it, but God knows our consistency in our walk with Him.
When you carry the presence of God, you stand to minister and lives will be affected. Its not about the voice, nor the talent, but there is a place of the anointing; the oil upon the head. It must not run dry, continually fill it because the fire upon the altar must not go off.
There is a place of skills, but the most important is that God is revealed in our songs and through our lives. Its not the vessel that makes the house great but the builder. What type of builder are you? The quality of your Christian experience is not left to God but your submission and willingness to rise through that spiritual process called submission.
On our part to become vessels of God, there are inconveniencies associated with our training but we must continue steadfastly in God because the world awaits our manifestation. We cannot afford to fail, calm down! take your time! Let God inspire you, do not just sing or minister as a casual thing or normal routine but its more than that. Desire to have His presence more in your ministration. Don’t be proud, go down in humility to God to commit all to Him always, don’t neglect your prayer altar. There is a place of daily renewal of the altar. Learn to soar on the wings of the spirit. God bless
