A lot of people even-so called believers in Christ, very often worry about many things- what to eat, where to take shelter, where to work, getting a spouse, having their own children, e.t.c. They easily forget the promises of God to meet every need. They don’t remember Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28 “Matthew 11:28 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” To rest means to depend on Christ to take over the wheels of your life. It is to throw your life at his feet in careless abandon, believing that he’ll take care of you.
Get the Peace that comes from an ultimately relationship with God. For you to enter into your rest, you must first turn to the one who is the true source of all rest Jesus, the prince of peace. It is only when you have a relationship with Him that you can have the Peace of God.
Learn to pray. Cast all your cares on the Lord and leave them there. Is your soul weary and worn out by the cares of this life? Jesus is calling you today to rise above your problems and enter into the rest he alone gives.
Give no room for unbelief or doubt when you pray, just trust in God’s promises; trust in his faithfulness that abounds to all generations. Be calm in your soul and be rest assured that he is able to do all things.
Ignore any feeling, voice or sight unhealthy to your faith. Don’t listen to any voice that may want you to doubt God’s promises. Don’t entertain any feelings that contradicts God’s promises.
Train your senses to depend on God’s word. The word of God remains from everlasting to everlasting. It cannot change, neither can it fail. So you must absolutely depend on this word.
Be stable and patient in your heart. Don’t allow yourself to be swayed by every challenge that comes your way. Wait on God, wait patiently for Him and he will bring all your desrires to pass.
Fill your hearts with praises and be joyful always. Praise does wonders. Learn to lift your praises to God at all times. This shows your complete dependence on his love, grace and mercy.
Never forget that everything you have was gotten by the grace of God and not your own power or merit. Never shift your faith away from God, put all your trust in him. And he will not fail you when you have faith, you believe that all God has promised, he is able to fulfill, just claim his promises and they will be fulfilled in your life.
Dear reader, the Lord’s invitation to enter into your rest is still valid today. Heed his invitation and have rest in your soul.
