God’s concern for mankind did not end at creation or the redemption of his soul, his care for mankind, especially the redeemed is all-inclusive as expressed in 3John 2
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. Several portions of the bible also confirms God’s interest in the believer’s health. He has adequately provided for all you need to stay healthy and his provision are always available and dependable.
Note.however that, just like a gold mine, health principles and promises in the scriptures must be dug out and diligently applied. You must not wait until you are sick before tapping to God’s provision for your health. Prevention they say is better than cure. Ask a man who has been sick for few hours and you would appreciate the value of a healthy body, spirit, soul and mind. To enjoy a healthy life, therefore, the following biblical principles must be applied
*Get acquainted with God,the giver of sound health (Matt6:22-28).
*Obey and serve the Lord, obedience to God guarantees the fulfilment of his promises. (Exodus15:26;23:25-26)
*Maintain a conscience void of offence and guilt. Unconfessed sins and faults leave the heart heavily burdened and this has a way of taking its toll on your health (James5:16)
*Learn to forgive and receive forgiveness. Unforgiving spirit will hinders answers to prayers of deliverance from evil or sickenesses. (Mark11:25)
*Pray in faith and personal life promises of healing and health in the scriptures (2Tim 4:18)
*Maintain a righteous life. Righteousness keeps sickness at bay. (Isa3:10)
*Be thankful. A thankful heart is a peaceful one- agitation that leads to high blood pressure does not plague a thankful heart. (Phil4:6)
*Take care of your thoughts and emotions. Negative thoughts and emotions have their way of poisoning your whole system. (Phil 4:8)
*Learn to be happy even when it seems there is nothing to be happy about. ( Prov 15:13)
*Maintain a clean, hygienic lifestyle and environment. Dirty environment and body exposes you to sickness. (Debut 23:14)
