Can you picture a veteran watchman on a very high tower, with a highly sophisticated microscope, viewing everything beneath the tower?. That is the perfect picture of the Almighty God. He sits in the high and lofty heaven above, and views everything on earth with His powerful eyes. What we are saying in essence is that God sees all we do here on earth. Psalms 94:9
With his watchful eyes, God surveys the earth and sees everything happening around it. Beyond what we can see as humans who are finite and limited, God is infinite, omniscient and omnipresent sees. He sees our every thought, imagination, and action. He sees what we do in our bed chambers, in the confines of our homes, in our offices and everywhere. He equally sees us all, whosoever we are, whosoever we are and whatever we are. There is no being that is not wholly known to God; hence as an individual, all your thoughts, feelings, and plans are distinctly understood and open to Him. All things are naked, exposed and uncovered before Him; there is nothing that can be concealed from Him.
God has a perfect knowledge of us, and all our thought and actions are open before him. It is the height of foolishness then to think that God, because we cannot see him, does not see and know what we do. He beholds all evil thoughts and deeds with dislike and rejection, and all good imaginations and actions with pleasure and approval. Many of us denies him by the way we live our lives. God takes strict notice of every step we take. He knows what rule we walk by, what end we walk towards, and what company we walk with. He knows which thought every vain, evil or good word comes and with what design it was uttered. Wherever we are we are under his watchful eyes of God. We cannot by searching find out how God searches us out; nor do we know how we are known. Such thoughts should restrain us from sin, and bring comfort and assurance to us as Christians.
Dear reader, if you have been living under the illusion that God does not see what you or take notice of it, you need a new turn around. Always live by that consciousness!
We do not segment our lives, giving sometimes to God, some to our business or schooling, while keeping parts to ourselves. The idea is to give all of our lives in the presence of God, under the authority of God, and for the honour and glory of God. That is what the Christian life is all about!.
