Being alive and fully living does not happen by chance or by only daily positive confession of ‘sickness is not my portion in Jesus name’! – while continuing in health damaging practices. It takes conscious and diligent efforts and will on our part. Living healthy is a life-long effect. Good health allows people to do many things. Good health is a valuable asset that you must not trade for anything. It’s your real wealth.
To have bodies that will enable us live healthy and fulfilled lives, certain pillars of health practices must be put in place:
TAKE A LOT OF WATER
It is amazing that we have so overlooked the value and importance of water. Everyday we lose water through perspiration, urine, breathing and bowel movements. Therefore, for your body to function properly you must replenish its water supply by drinking adequate quantity of Water. Drink at least 8-ounce glasses of water daily. You may however need to modify your total fluid intake depending on how active you are, the climate you live in, your health status and if you’re pregnant or breast feeding.
GO RAW AND FRESH
Going raw here is used to mean eating more raw and fresh foods. Scientist have firmly established that food is severely damaged and degraded by the cooking process. Losses can occur through drying, frying e.t.c Cooking at high temperature can damage your food. Juice up your nutrition with fruits. Vegetables and fruits can be combined to make mouth- watering fruits delicious and healthy foods.
You could eat well but if you do not sufficiently exercise your body, you may still have a number of health challenges to contend with. Exercises involves all bodily activities that helps you maintain physical fitness and overall healthy living. For greatest overall health benefits, experts recommend that you do 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activities three or more times a week. You can take a walk, do some household chores, play games e.t.c Look for ways you can move more and put your body in Shape. Stand up on a regular basis, play outside, use your muscles and stretch.
FAST NOW AND THEN
You sometimes need to abstain from food!. Fasting (For health reasons) is a body cleansing procedure during which food is restricted and only liquids are consumed. There are different types of fasting for health: water-only fast, juice and medicinal teas fast, and so on. Water only fast are more rigorous but beneficial.
BOOST YOUR EMOTIONS
Your emotional health is your overall psychological well-being including the way you feel about yourself, the richness of your relationships and your ability to manage your feelings and deal with difficulties. When you have sound emotional and mental health, you are able to participate in life to the fullest extent possible through meaningful and strong relationships.
KNOW YOUR GOD
“Dan 11:32b but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”. Your spiritual health is crucial to the overall well-being. When you are lost or unbalanced spiritually, moodiness, distress and discontent with life will naturally ensue. When you are Spiritually connected and fulfilled, everything in life- including physical, emotional pain- is easier to deal with. Your spiritually health is very important for your general well-being. Enriched spiritual health offers you comfort, meaning, strength, hope, harmony, purpose and inner peace that money cannot buy. Stay in tune with God and he will keep you strong for great exploits in life.
Our world today is full of activities. The struggle for survival almost makes it impossible for anyone to find time to rest. Yet, even the scripture emphasize the importance of rest for man and the fact that adequate rest is essential to refresh our bodies. For maximum health therefore, you must develop a regular sleeping plan and stick to it.
You must arm yourself with information, regarding rules of hygiene, nutrition, health supplements, the efficacy of exercises and other valuable information related to living the healthy way of life.
HAVE A BREAK
Go offline, set a time to log off and put the phone down. Putting away your smart phone and laptops might seem like an enormous challenge. But being connected regularly can have a negative effect on your general productivity and creativity. Disconnect at least one and half hour daily and give your brain a well deserved break.
Smiling is an easy habit to adopt and will greatly affect your mood. Smile a lot it produces endorphins, providing instant happiness.
