The relevance of the word of God and the power it wields cannot be overstated (Hebrew 4:12). It has the power to break the strongest cord of sin, heal incurable diseases and gives hope in the most hopeless situation. In fact, the possibilities of the word are endless. The word of God is the shield of every believer and a strong pillar of our Christian faith. It is the heavenly pilgrims staff and compass in the wilderness of life.
The word is also crucial to every success story. Obedience to the word guarantees success while disobedience and disregard for it spells doom. (Joshua1:8). More so, the word is powerful enough to keep you from stumbling in your Christian walk (Psalm 119:105). Even Christ affirmed the power of the word when he said “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”. (John 6:63). To experience the power of the word therefore you must
- Read it always- It teaches the fear of God (Deuteronomy 17:19)
*Hide it in your heart- It keeps from sin (Psalms 119:11)
*Obey it in all situations- it brings fruitfulness (Matthew 13:23)
*Thirst for it continually- It brings Joy (Jeremiah 15:16)
*Pay close attention to it- It gives life and health (Proverbs 4:20-22)
*Receive it with meekness- It saves the soul (James 1:21)
*Meditate on it always- It guarantees good success
*Speak it always- It carries power (Matthew 8:8)
*Put it to use at all times- It works wonders (Hebrew 4:12)
*Delight in it- it prevents spiritual dryness and gives prosperity (Psalm1:2-3)
*Take heed to it- It purifies (Psalms 119:9)
*Believe it- It works effectively in every situation (1 Thessalonians 2:13) - Memorize and confess it – It puts heart on the run. (Matt 4:10-11)
*Preach it passionately- It delivers from destruction
*Stand on it always- It brings daily victory and answers to prayers(John 15:7).
The level of a believer’s spiritually and how much revelation of God, Christ and the Holy spirit he has is rightly proportionate to the level of his knowledge of God’s word. You can only be an effective and overcoming Christian through the word of God. If your spiritual life is not what it ought to be (filled with the power of God) then it is time to check up your life in the mirror of Word.
There is unimaginable power in the word. Read, believe and apply it; you will never cease to have testimonies in your life!.
